Welcoming Refugees Group
A group of concerned Quakers met recently to explore how they might best be of assistance to help with the present government’s proposals to take in 4,000 migrants in response to the refugee crisis.
So far the group has met twice and they plan to continue to do so on a regular basis in order to learn and educate themselves regarding this issue.
Among the information they have gathered so far is the fact that:
- The Irish Red Cross has been asked by the Government to coordinate pledges of support to the victims of the migration crisis arriving in Ireland over the coming months and years. These pledges can include a range of offers from accommodation to Befriending and conversational English, as well as monetary offers to the Red Cross. Any individual or group who wishes to make a pledge can go to the Red Cross website link below:-

and the phone no. is 01-6424600
