by
Dr Leeann Lane

Leeann’s book Rosamond Jacob: Third Person Singular was published by UCD Press in 2010. She will discuss the suffrage and nationalist activism of the Waterford Quaker during the revolutionary period. Born in 1888, Rosamond was involved in politics firstly in Waterford and, from 1919, in Dublin. The talk will cover her activities in such causes as well as the manner in which she recorded her perspective on the period in her diary and in her fiction.

Dr Leeann Lane is a lecturer in the School of History and Geography, Dublin City University. She is a member of the government-appointed Expert Advisory Group on the decade of centenaries.
